The Cabin

We went to view the cabin in October 2021. Approaching from the east, first impressions were not great.

South side of the cabin

Entrance is on the west side

The garden was a bit overgrown, but the setting is fantastic.

Opening the front door for the first time, something smelt a bit off...

Lounge could do with a bit of tidy up.

The kitchen was worse!

And the bathroom just disgusting!
Not put off by the mess and ready for a challenge, we put in an offer for the cabin.
There were no other bidders, so we got it for the asking price.
Room by room we cleared all the rubish:

Starting the cleanup with a shovel. Open fire very handy for burning rubbish.

My Dad helping to sort out and bag the rubbish in the lounge.

Lounge mostly cleared.

Out first table and chairs in the lounge.
New corner sofa, table and ceiling light. Oh, and we found the door to the entrance hall under the cabin.

Lounge dining room table and chairs and another ceiling light.

The bedframe was OK

Main bedroom cleared of rubbish

That mattress just had to go

With a new mattress and bedding, the bedroom is ready for use.

New bedding, new curtains, floor mat and a ceiling light.

These bedrooms were not actually that bad compared to the other rooms.
